jetBlue Flight Attendant
If all of us reacted as the JetBlue flight attendant...chaos in the workplace for sure!
This flight attendants "reaction" could have physically harmed ground crew, catering, cabin service...etc..and the cost to repack or possibly replace the safety slide...$20,000 to $40,000! He stands on American soil, our soldiers put their life on the line DAILY to insure this flight attendant has choices.
Yes, he had choices. He could have applied for a leave of absence with the company, made an appointment to seek professionals help with a psychologist or clergy, gone out with friends to "shot the bull" about the rude passengers that are making his life miserable. Passengers are rude sometimes, people are rude sometimes.... it's what we sign up for when we check into life as a human being. To chose to be tolerate of others, even if we don't agree with their values, politics, religion...etc. We don't have to live with them...surely we should be able to look at a person's ill temperment with great joy we don't have to go home with them. We just have to ...in the flight attendant's case...put up with them for a couple of hours.
To lose control over oneself? It's the only thing we do have control over....why would we CHOSE to give that up?
We live in a wonderful country, yes we have challenges daily, but we have opportunities daily as well. We can chose to continue to work for a company or prepare to begin with another. It's our decision, and again, the only thing we can control is ourself.
I never want to give that freedom up to a "reaction" that could take away my freedom by imprisonment. Not ever!

ST. LOUIS MARRIOTT WEST HOTEL
If you are in St. Louis and can choose your hotel......You'd be doing yourself a BIG favor by choosing the St. Louis Marriott West! The reason is this,... they employ people who love what they do!
Not to name drop -but I will - Martha Morgner, Sales Manager for this hotel, she went out of her way to make Jeffrey Gitomer's stay with them the BEST! He was there on a speaking engagement for a corporate customer. Jeffrey lives in hotels!!! I can count on one hand....wait... I can count on two fingers... the number of hotels that have called me asking how they could make Jeffrey's stay with them more comfortable? Thank goodness I have a strong heart, the shock didn't stop me from telling Martha all Jeffrey's favorites! I figured if she took her time to call me, I sure could take the time to run down "Jeffrey's away from home" wishlist for her! She was all too gracious...listening, listing and repeating the list making sure she had captured all. She reminded me of a person who loves what they are doing.... I got her passion for the HOSPITALLY INDUSTRY.... and more importantly....
JEFFREY GITOMER GOT IT!
